Safeguarding the Delicate Balance between Religious Freedom and Secular Authority
The First Amendment to the United States Constitution guarantees five essential freedoms that are the Freedom of Religion; the Freedom of Speech; the Freedom of the Press; the Freedom of Assembly; and the Freedom of Petition. President James Madison, the author of the U.S. Constitution and drafter of the Constitution’s Bill of Rights, wrote that the exercise of religion “is in its nature an unalienable right …. [and] is precedent, both in order of time and in degree of obligation, to the claims of Civil Society.”
In a May 4, 2017 memorandum to all federal agencies, the then existing U.S. Attorney General states that “Religious liberty is not merely a right to observance and practice. Except in the narrowest circumstances, no one should be forced to choose between living out his or her faith and complying with the law.”
Despite the U.S. Government’s long defended convictions concerning the Freedom of Religion, in recent years, Christian Churches and organizations have been experiencing dramatic shifts in the public acceptance of traditional Christian lifestyles. For example, our ministry, TWEA, has experienced censorship on social media platforms, first-hand, for no reason other than our open proclamation that Lord Jesus the Christ is the only way, the truth, and the light: the only eternal salvation. Our organization is not partisan, other than sensibly and prudently informing our audience of the nations’ governmental, economic, scientific, and social trends that affect the Church, both positively and negatively.
Increasingly in Western developed nations; public institutions, such as public-school systems and private global companies, censor Christian groups because of Christian ministries' employment policies or non-multi-faith advertising and proclamations. And so, though we enjoy religious freedom on the constitutional record; increasingly in practice, the Church is censored in Western nations.
In non-Western nations that are in different stages of governmental development, many Churches do not fully enjoy religious freedom. Indeed, we can presently gauge the health of a Christian community based upon the community’s presiding government’s stage towards achieving representational government and its requisite freedoms. Thereby, we can likewise gauge the political, economic, and cultural challenges that each respective Christian community faces. In this way, we can strategize how to assist the global community of Christian Churches for the good of Lord Jesus’ Church Body as a whole.
As we have said, Western Churches have played and continue to play a key role in the preservation of modern democratic society: the Church remains strong in public influence and material wealth for charity. Therefore, our efforts are to safeguard the Western Church’s prosperity for the good all Churches, globally. The grave alarm is the fact that Western society exponentially trends towards the censorship of orthodox teachings of the Old and New Testaments’ universally accepted canon of scriptures. In our opinion, if Western Churches fall, all Churches will suffer for generations.

TWEA’s Approach: Alternating Old Testament and New Testament Annual Sermon Series that Contextualize Life-Experience Programs (A Discipleship Ministry that Preserves a Public Priesthood of the Saints)
Presently, the state of mainstream Churches in the U.S. consists of a casual atmosphere, popular-music centered worship, and almost random subject based-sermons, touching on a variety of issues that the Church’s ministry leadership deem to be relevant to the majority of their congregants. Most mainstream Churches do sponsor in depth Bible studies in off-hour, small group formats. Also, Christian publishing industries produce a litany of books and videos centering on self-help through spiritual enrichment.
Our humble ministry certainly has no place or standing to criticize the litany of ministries with dedicated leadership, all serving the Lord’s Church, faithfully to the best of their ability. Our concern is that the vast majority of regular Church participants never experience a mature level of discipleship, because despite being exposed to an extensive variety of sermon subject matters for years, the participants never receive a systematic understanding, yielding basic biblical literacy. As a result, everyday Christians are ill-equipped to defend or share their faith in their public and private lives. In short, because of the mainstream light-on-doctrine, popular Church format; traditional Christianity spirals towards public demise in the West, as the sound doctrines that define the Christian lifestyle become less publicly accepted.
